It seems Suzuki is back to the scene of labor unrest. The difference this time is that it is the motorcycle division Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) which has come to the limelight. Suzuki Motorcycles has suspended 3 union leaders in its Gurgaon plant for the same reason.
The Union’s point is different. They said that the company did not want to pay incentives to them and hence it is spoiling the atmosphere of the company. They were promised to be paid incentives in a maximum of 6 months but did not receive them. When they took the matter to the officials, they were abused.
It is not the first time that these kind of labor unrest has been reported in Gurgaon, a few years back Maruti had a rough time with its labor and we all remember the Honda’s infamous labor discontent issues.
